Here's a swatch from an illo I did for today's Post. It accompanied Romeo Dallaire's forward to a book of first-person soldier stories. Grim stuff. And I thought dealing with a mild lack of sunshine was tough.

A Rabbit Habit

356 days ago · Sarah Lazarovic

Illustrated a piece in today's Post about having a pet in your twenties. I can definitely see the author's point, but I'm just not an animal person. So I was glad when she conceded, toward the end of the piece, that 'it's okay to forego the experience if you don't like animals.' I am going to clip this bit and send it to my mother-in-law because I get the distinct feeling that one of these days she's going to try to throw a poodle in my direction.

P.S. Here's a photo of bacon that I took. It'll be in the National Post Toronto Mag on Saturday. Don't tell my Rabbi!

Screen Scene

Didn't want to post the yield of my screenprinting course until I knew pal Kristy had received the shirt I made her in the mail - nothing worse than a surprise ruined by indiscrete blogging!

More Miscellany

A handful of new portraits are up, though I'm still behind in my scannage. As well, I'm doing a new weekly city quiz cartoon for the Post Toronto section. Check it.

Bits and Bobbins

- Guess who's doing the music for our short film? A fabulous nonogenarian named Irving Fields. Check out his YouTube anthem.

Portrait Project

I'll be doing one portrait a day until I can't do one portrait a day anymore. Not allowed to spend more than an hour on each one.

Long Live Irony

This is my catch-all site - art projects, journalism, weird experiments, all founded in the general belief that irony is not dead, regardless of what Graydon Carter says.

Dress and Suit

A joint blog where me and the Mr. post our thoughts on fashion and design, and I chronicle my year of not shopping. (I've cheated once.)

The Portrait Gallery

The government has been all kinds of annoying when it comes to creating a respectable National Portrait Gallery of Canada. So we built one in our garage this summer!
